Reading Event: Baca Bareng BBI 2013

Akhirnya bikin list untuk baca bareng teman-teman anggota BBI untuk tahun 2013. Berikut ini adalah tema buku yang sudah ditetapkan oleh ‘panitia’ Baca Bareng BBI 2013 setiap bulannya selama tahun 2013. Agak bingung juga menentukan buku-buku apa saja yang akan saya baca. But I’m so excited! >.<

JANUARI:

Buku dari Secret Santa 2012. (Karena saya nggak ikut event ini, maka tidak ada buku Secret Santa yang saya baca untuk Januari. Hiks. Semoga tahun ini event Secret Santa akan diadakan lagi biar bisa ikutan.)

FEBRUARI:

1. Buku-buku Pramoedya Ananta Toer, untuk memperingati hari jadi beliau yang jatuh pada tanggal 6 Februari. Contoh: Tetralogi Pulau Buru.

My choise: Bumi Manusia by Pramoedya Ananta Toer (status: gagal. gak sempat baca buku ini.)

2. Buku-buku yang diadaptasi ke layar lebar dan masuk nominasi atau menang Oscar, untuk merayakan awards season selama Januari-Februari. Contoh: The Godfather, The English Patient, There Will Be Blood, A Passage to India.

My choise: To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee (status: done. review here)

MARET:

1. Sastra Asia, buku-buku yang ditulis oleh pengarang berkebangsaan atau yang berasal dari negeri-negeri Asia. Contoh: Arudhanti Roy, Jhumpa Lahiri, Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni, Haruki Murakami, Banana Yoshimoto

My choise: Dunia Kafka by Haruki Murakami (status: done. review here)

2. Science-fiction/fantasi/paranormal, buku-buku yang bertemakan hal-hal yang bersifat fiksi dan fantasi, baik untuk young-adult, pembaca umum maupun dewasa. Contoh: Trilogi His Dark Materials, trilogi Lord of The Rings, A Song of Ice and Fire - George R.R Martin

My choise: Harry Potter dan Tawanan Azkaban by J.K. Rowling

APRIL:

1. Buku-buku yang bertemakan perempuan atau buku yang ditulis oleh perempuan, untuk merayakan hari Kartini. Contoh: To KIll A Mockingbird - Harper Lee, Perfect Match - Jodi Picoult, 9 untuk Nadira - Leila S. Chudori

My choise: Perfect Match by Jodi Picoult dan/atau Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert

2. Buku tentang buku, untuk merayakan ulang tahun BBI yang jatuh pada 13 April. Contoh: The Book Thief - Markus Zusak, Shadow of The Wind - Carlos Ruiz Zafon, Ex Libris: Confessions of A Common Reader - Anne Fadiman

MEI:

1. Klasik-kontemporer, buku-buku yang ditulis di abad 20 atau 21 dan telah menjadi klasik, atau buku-buku klasik yang mengangkat tema modern. Contoh: One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest - Ken Kasey, A Clockwork Orange - Anthony Burgess, Lord of The Flies - William Goldman, The Unbearable Lightness of Being - Milan Kundera

2. Kumpulan cerpen, baik yang ditulis oleh pengarang lokal maupun internasional, atau yang ditulis dalam masa modern atau klasik. Contoh: The Elephant Vanishes - Haruki Murakami, A Good Man is Hard To Find - Flannery O' Connor, What We Talk About When We Talk About Love - Raymond Carver

1. Sastra Eropa, buku-buku yang ditulis oleh pengarang yang berasal dari negeri-negeri Eropa. Contoh: War and Peace - Victor Hugo, Don Quixote - Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, The Stranger - Albert Camus,  The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared - Jonas Jonasson

My choise: The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry dan/atau Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov

2. Romance, buku-buku yang menceritakan kisah cinta, baik fiksi maupun non-fiksi, modern atau klasik, novel atau kumpulan cerpen, dewasa atau young-adult (atau genre baru, new-adult). Boleh disertakan tema lain seperti fantasi, thriller atau lainnya. 1.  Buku-buku finalis atau pemenang Man Booker Prize. Contoh: Wolf Hall - Hillary Mantel, Aib - J. M. Coetzee, Vernon God Little - DBC Pierre, Bring Up The Bodies - Hillary Mantel

2. Buku debut penulis baru, baik yang ditulis di tahun 2013 atau yang baru menulis satu buku. Contoh: Blue Romance - Sheva, Cinder - Marissa Mayer
